KPV-Lab is represented at WCPEC-8 with five members

05 October, 2022

This year >1500 attendees visited the conference and Saudi Arabia has been represented by several researchers from KAUST Solar Center.

The conference chair is summarizing the event details.

KPV-Lab members Stefaan De Wolf, Erkan Aydin, Esma Ugur, Waseem Raja, and Pia Dally attended the 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion which is organized in Milan, Italy.

Prof. De Wolf delivered a keynote talk on “Pathways to High-Efficiency and Outdoor-Stable Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells” in the panel our research scientist Dr. Erkan Aydin chaired.

Prof. De Wolf is doing his presentation in the session Dr. Erkan Aydin chairs.

Dr. Erkan Aydin presented “Solution-Processed Perovskites on Textured Interfaces: a Successful Platform for Efficient Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells”, which gives an overview of how KPV-Lab reached high-efficiency perovskite/silicon tandem baseline.

Dr. Erkan Aydin is doing his presentation.

Dr. Esma Ugur presented her poster on “High-Current Output Bifacial Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells” and she won the best poster award among hundreds of posters. This work demonstrates the high-efficiency potential of the bifacial perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells.

Dr. Esma Ugur is presenting her work during the best poster awardee presentation session.

Contributing to the #WCPEC8, Dr. Pia Dally presented the work about XPS and PL at Institut Photovoltaïque d'Ile-de-France (IPVF), on coupling both techniques to investigate the reliability of the chemical information after Ar+ bombardment on perovskite solar cells.

   Dr. Pia Dally

Dr. Waseem Raja presented his poster on “Temperature-dependent optical modeling of perovskite solar cells”. This study gives a method to predict the energy yield of the perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells more accurately.
