Achieving industrially compatible perovskite photovoltaics requires its fabrication methodologies to be optimized for maximum throughput. Working on scalable techniques like slot-die ensures that the advancements made on device performance are rapidly adapted for industrial applications. Using flexible polymer substrates for perovskite photovoltaics allows roll-to-roll fabrication with additional commercial benefits for niche applications. This project aims towards adapting our process fabrication of perovskite solar cells using slot-die coating for flexible substrates. This requires all process methodologies to be compatible with the low-temperature requirements of ITO-PET substrates.
The candidate will explore and adopt alternative strategies to achieve the entirety of the device stack using scalable fabrication techniques like blade coating and slot-die on flexible substrates and address the challenges associated. With state-of-the-art device efficiencies achieved at KPV laboratory using these scalable techniques, we are looking to extend these devices onto flexible substrates. This project requires highly motivated candidates with a commitment toward lab work and device fabrication, looking to further their career in the technological front.
